Rock The Ink: The Ultimate Music & Lifestyle Experience to debut in Providence, RIRock The Ink Providence, RI (September 25, 2008)-Rock The Ink, the highly anticipated three day music and tattoo lifestyle expo, rolls into Providence Rhode Island on October 24th, 25th and 26th, appearing for three days and nights at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Rhode Island Convention Center. Rock The Ink is the cultural fusion of music, on-site tattooing, fine art performances, celebrity appearances, local band competitions, daily tattoo contests, motorcycle exhibitions and fashion. Designed for fans of cutting edge music, the hard-core inked, the newly inked and the simply curious, Rock The Ink brings together 50 bands and over 100 of the world’s top tattoo artists for a three-day immersion in the Rock The Ink way of life. Killswitch Engage, a local New England band whose success has taken them to forefront of modern music, kicks off Rock The Ink on Friday night. Also appearing Friday night are Drowning Pool, Saliva and All That Remains. Leading the headline talent and spearheading the Rock The Ink experience is New England’s own Godsmack. In their only 2008 Northeast appearance, Godsmack and front man Sully Erna will appear on Saturday night, along with Sevendust and Taproot. Bret Michaels, star of VH1’s ?Rock of Love?, and his band will headline Sunday night. Sunday night’s line-up also features NE favorites State Radio and Rehab, whose song “Bartender” is poised to top the national charts. Rounding out Sunday’s talent is rising star Gary Hoey and area favorite Badfish: Tribute to Sublime. Ami James, premier tattoo artist and star of Miami Ink, will appear all three days at Rock The Ink. Ami James will introduce bands, meet his fans, sign autographs and unveil his Rock The Ink merchandise and jewelry designs, including t-shirts, hoodies, dog tags, pendants and belt buckles. Ami will no doubt find some fresh skin to tattoo. Attendees will get to see Ami tattoo the lucky winner of a Rock The Ink promotional contest. In its commitment to artistic expression, Rock The Ink is proud to announce that renowned visionary artist Alex Grey will appear all three days at Rock The Ink. Alex Grey will take fans on a visual journey as he creates his extraordinary artwork live on stage. His artwork has appeared on the album covers of Tool, Beastie Boys and Nirvana. Alex Grey’s paintings and signed posters will be offered as prizes in Rock The Ink promotional contests. Over 100 of the world’s top tattoo artists and body piercers will set up shop on the floor of the RICC, including featured artists Tony Olivas, Bob Tyrrell, Nikko Hurtado, Jess Yen, Cory Kruger, James Kern, Jon Clue, Pooch, Jon Jon, Alec Bezzina and Yoji from Miami Ink.
